As the colder months arrive here in Sydney, it’s not uncommon to see mould appearing in corners of the home. This is a recurring issue in many households — mostly due to increased humidity and reduced ventilation during winter.

But did you know that small day-to-day actions can make a big difference in preventing mould?

🪟 Ventilation is key — even in the cold

We get it: Sydney winters can be chilly, and all we want to do is keep the windows shut. But when there is no air circulation, especially in damp or dark areas, mould can grow easily.

Even when it’s cold, you should open your windows for a few hours each day, especially when the sun is shining. If your home doesn’t get much sunlight, good ventilation is even more important. Fresh air needs to flow through your space!

Also, try to open the curtains during the day to let in natural light. Your home needs to “breathe” and get a little fresh air, even if just for a short while.

🧹 Regular cleaning: your biggest ally against mould

In addition to airflow, regular cleaning plays a crucial role in keeping mould at bay and your home healthy for your family.

Dust build-up and moisture on surfaces like walls, windows, cupboards, and bathrooms make mould growth even more likely.

A good cleaning routine helps ensure:

  • Healthier spaces, free from mould and fungi

  • Fresher, cleaner air indoors

  • Reduced risk of allergies and respiratory issues

At Made in Brazil Cleaning, we provide personal and caring service. We focus on keeping your home clean, organized, and healthy all year, even in Sydney’s humid winter.

Because your family deserves to breathe well.
